Welcome to Spectrum Skateboard Society! Safe, fun, and inclusive skateboard camps for children and youth on the Autism Spectrum.
We welcome all children and youth 6-17 years old with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Our beginner, Winter mini-ramp lessons have a maximum of 4 students per class and are focused on fun. Lessons are on Saturdays for 1 hour and run for 4 weeks at a time. Choose from lessons at 9:00 am or 10:30 am. The cost of 4 sessions is $140 plus GST. Lessons are taught at the Seylynn Skateboard Shop 1434 Rupert St. North Vancouver.
All lessons are taught by Blair Durnan, Therapeutic Recreation Practitioner, Skater, and Parent. We will play games that utilize the skateboard to get students comfortable with being on a skateboard and socializing. Students will learn proper stance, pushing, safety techniques, skatepark etiquette, basic skateboard maneuvres, while improving social skills.
